Changes to London’s congestion charge will see electric vehicle drivers pay to enter the Congestion Charging Zone (CCZ) for the first time.

As of 5^th January the 100% cleaner vehicle discount has finished alongside increases for petrol and diesel vehicles.

The cleaner vehicle discount will be replaced with a:

• 25% discount on the daily charge for electric cars registered on Auto Pay
• 50% discount on the daily charge for electric vans, HGVs, and quadricycles registered on Auto Pay

These discounts will be halved in March 2030.

The pre-discount daily Congestion Charge is now:

• £18 if paid on the day of travel or in advance
• £21 if paid within 3 days after travel

Transport for London estimates that without the changes, an average weekday would see a further 2,000 vehicles inside the CCZ.
